Melinda K. Herman is our Estate Planning Paralegal and Billing Clerk. Melinda began working for our firm in April of 1996. She holds an Associate in Applied Science Degree with a major in Legal Assisting from Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Virginia.
Melinda and her husband, Donnie, have been married for 19 years. They have boy/girl twins, Jackson Avery and Mia Alexandra, who are currently in their Freshman year of high school. Melinda works remotely from her home outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Her husband, Donnie, is an Aviation Safety Compliance Specialist under the Office of Aviation Services of the United States Department of the Interior.
After the birth of her twins in July of 2003, Melinda took five (5) years off to be a full-time stay-at-home mom until her children started Kindergarten. Melinda came back to work with our firm on a part-time basis in August of 2008, and is now back to working full time.
Melinda works primarily on estate planning matters, processing our clients’ estate planning documents, including Wills, Trust Agreements, Durable General Powers of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney, Certifications of Trust, Bills of Sale, Tangible Personal Property Memorandums, and related documents.
Melinda also handles our monthly client billing, assists with our website, and is responsible for much of our marketing efforts. Due to her years of experience with the firm, her educational background, and Continuing Legal Education (CLE), Melinda is also cross-trained in probate matters and assists with probate work when needed.
